Josh Willer
Head Coach Josh Willer started his swimming career at a local YMCA outside of Chicago at age 4 and continued through his collegiate career at Ball State University where he served as Team Captain. Josh's passion for swimming inspired him to become a student of the sport and allowed him many unique coaching experiences. Before moving to Texas, Coach Josh had the privilege of coaching in the international scene. Having started the 2nd largest swimming program in Egypt and serving as a Head National Coach for Antigua and Barbuda, Coach Josh worked with many international level athletes competing at Junior Worlds, World Championships, Common Wealth Games, Youth Olympic Games, and Olympians from 3 different countries including the United States. 
After moving to Texas, Coach Josh saw the opportunity to continue his passion for the sport, and help athletes reach their goals and have long, successful careers. Ready to share his passion and experience, Texas Elite is ready to take your athlete to new levels.  Reach out at [email protected]

Dr. Matt Wenning has been a keynote figure in strength and conditioning for 2 decades. He has been a strength coach for Ball State University and a Hall of Fame inductee in 2019. At the university from 1999-2005, he has helped all 20 plus teams in both in-season maintenance, and off season progression. This experience allowed him to be able to assist in nearly every sport in the NCAA.

Personal Lifting Career
Matt is no stranger to the weightroom. His lifting accolades include the lightest man to Squat 1200lb as an all time world record in 2011, world record all time total in 2008- and the only lifter to hold world records in his 20s, 30s, and 40s in various disciplines. He was a top 3 lifter in the world from 2006 to 2018, which makes him one of the best lifters of his generation.

Skylar is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who earned her Master of Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver and completed her dietetic internship at UC San Diego Health hospital systems. Prior to becoming an RDN, Skylar graduated from California Polytechnical State University of San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and worked as an engineer for just over four years. Her own health journey and background as a competitive athlete ignited her passion and curiosity for sports and performance nutrition.

During her time at UC San Diego Health, she received extensive training in Medical Nutrition Therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Skylar’s areas of expertise include eating disorders, disordered eating, and sports and performance nutrition. Skylar brings a compassionate approach to each counseling session. She always emphasizes the importance of establishing a positive relationship with food and body while working on nutrition and lifestyle behavior change.

Skylar currently resides in Steamboat Springs, CO where she’s an avid trail runner, biker, and winter sport athlete. She’s looking forward to supporting the Texas Elite swimming athletes in optimizing their health, performance, and their longevity in sport through her virtual nutrition services.

 

Skylar offers virtual 1:1 counseling sessions for athletes and their families using a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform.
